51˛čšÝ Names New Student Resilience Award for Retiring Vice President
GREENSBORO, N.C. â Beginning in 2021, 51˛čšÝ will present an annual award for resilience, named after a retiring college executive.
The Dr. Robin L. Daniel Resilience Award will be presented annually to the student who has overcome significant challenges to graduate from 51˛čšÝ, President Lawrence D. Czarda, Ph.D., announced during todayâs virtual Commencement.
The award is named after Robin Daniel, who will retire this summer as executive vice president and chief operating officer after 15 years of service to the college.
Czarda cited Daniel for his âdedicated and committed service to the college in a multitude of professional positionsâ and called the new award âa fitting legacy for Dr. Danielâs service to the college.â
51˛čšÝ provides a liberal arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and, spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.
Founded in 1838 and located in downtown 51˛čšÝ, the college enrolls about 1,000 students from 29 states and territories, the District of Columbia, and seven foreign countries in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and six masterâs degree programs.
